BUDDHIST MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME

At Singapore Buddhist Mission, we firmly believe in Buddhists being able to be successful and joyful in their endeavors while living the Dhamma and being supported by the Buddhist Community.

In partnership with the Buddhist Youth Network, we kickstarted the Buddhist Mentorship Programme, to invite practicing Buddhists to provide sound guidance to aspiring Buddhists who wish to be mentored.

Integrating Dhamma in Daily Life

Guided by mentors and inspired by spiritual advisor Sayalay Sujata, this flexible program fits your schedule and connects you with a supportive community. Enjoy group meetups to build meaningful connections, plus exclusive Dhamma Inspiration sessions that explore practical teachings to help you navigate everyday life with wisdom and compassion.

Join us to enrich your daily life with authentic Dhamma practice and lasting personal growth!

Our Aspirations

PHIMOL, SEASON 1 MENTEE

“In your career, you have career coaches. When you are in finance, you have your financial coaches. Likewise when you want to go into Buddhism, you need someone there to be accountable, someone to help answer your Buddhist questions. Finding that interest and sparking that interest for someone new into Buddhism is something very magical."

Q: What is the time commitment for the program? A: The mentorship runs for six months and includes four main events: a networking session, program launch, midpoint check-in, and graduation. Attendance at all events is required to help you get the most out of the experience. Beyond these, you and your mentor group can decide together how often and in what format you’d like to meet. Q: How are mentors assigned? A: You can indicate your mentor preferences during the application process. However, final assignments are made after the networking session, based on mentor availability and compatibility. We encourage you to keep an open mind! Q: Can I apply if I’m not between 25 and 45 years old? A: If you’re outside the age range but are interested in joining, please email us at mentorship@sbm.sg to share your situation. We review such requests on a case-by-case basis. Q: Do I need to be Buddhist to participate? A: No, you do not need to be Buddhist to enroll. However, having an interest or curiosity in Buddhism will enrich your mentorship journey. We offer workshops and events to help mentees learn more about Buddhist teachings, and we highly recommend attending these sessions. Q: Do I need prior knowledge of Buddhism to join? A: Not at all! We welcome participants with little or no background in Buddhism. What matters most is your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Q: What if I cannot afford the program? A: If cost is a concern, please reach out to us at mentorship@sbm.sg. We’re happy to discuss your situation and explore possible alternatives.
