VESAK @ SBM

Why do we celebrate Vesak?

An iconic day celebrating the Birth, Enlightenment and Pari-Nibbana of Lord Buddha, the Singapore Buddhist Mission Vesak Day Celebrations has always been a festival where its members and lay Buddhists come together in a merit-making event which encompasses a whole host of spiritual activities; including Bathing the Buddha, joining in the 28-Buddha Puja Chanting and Blessings  by Members of the Sangha segment; a sing-along session of Buddhist hymns and a string of fringe activities as well as vegetarian lunch provided to participants. In the evenings, SBM organizes a Vesak Concert to commemorate the values of Buddhism as well as allow its volunteers from Resonation Performing Arts group to present their various talents to its audience
