Bhante Rathana received his ordination as a Sri Lankan Buddhist monk at the age of 12. He obtained his higher ordination in 2008. Then he graduated from Buddhist and Poli University of Sri Lanka in 2011 and he got Masters in Buddhist studies at the same college in 2022.
